Two men dead after accidental shooting in Lafourche Parish
LAFOURCHE PARISH, La. —
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced that two men died in a tragic accidental shooting in Thibodaux.
Early on July 5, deputies responded to a call around 3:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Colony Station. Officials say 30-year-old Draven Hendon of Thibodaux and 22-year-old Jordan Landry of Houma were both found dead at the scene.
Detectives believe the two were playing with a loaded gun when it accidentally fired, killing Landry. Hendon then allegedly turned the gun on himself.

Why do they think he accidentally shot the first guy? Were there witnesses?

Was wondering the same. Could have been murder-suicide.
But I could see, if it were an accident, the guy would feel so bad that he'd kill himself. But again, how would they know? If no witnesses, did he take the time to write a suicide note? But that could be a cover up for murder-suicide.

Yes -the first shooting was accidental.

A Google search shows the 30 year old murdered a pedestrian in a hit and run in 2016. His first stay in prison must have been a little rough so he took the easy way out.

When I was a kid, my buddy's dad and uncle were drinking moonshine and having a quick draw contest with loaded pistols. Uncle ended up taking a .38 in his jaw.

Umm, no. The obvious response is to call 911, not kill yourself.
