Let’s say you’re having bad insomnia or something causing lack of sleep. What profession do you think would be the worst to have and most dangerous if you are tired from lack of sleep? Surgeon? Pilot? Air traffic controller?

if you are a professional pilot and report that to the FAA, as you’re supposed to, they will pull your medical certificate

This.

A Dr in surgery is just killing one person. A truck driver asleep behind the wheel…well we all know how that can end.

Almost any front line military job. And of course, depriving troops of sleep is standard practice, because rest is for pussies and all that nonsense. Elvis Presley was a drug addict, and it was the Army that made him so. His Sargents gave him amphetamines to keep him awake during long guard duty. And now we’re discovering that our supermen in spec ops units are, surprise, fueled by speed and coke, and then retire with broken bodies. Because, you know, rest is for pussies.
