It’s not that rare for physicians to die in car accidents post-call from lack of sleep.

Not sure if a want to go electrician or guys involved with installing water suppression. Sleepy frick ups could kill thousands.

Some of the docs at our hospital do week on week off.

On weeks rotate between a week of nights and week of days.

Can't imagine having that sleep schedule

The military trains like it fights for a reason. The military simply can’t call timeout in the middle of fighting to catch some sleep.

That said, while in garrison and even training there should always be safety precautions.

Due to their shift work schedules, every Air Traffic Controller I know is almost always tired, and most look younger five years after they retire.
