I don't give a shite who has their camera on or off. I don't need to see someone's face to interact with them, and it has no bearing on if they do their job or not.
All you idiot arse boomers care about all this stupid ancillary shite instead of getting the work done, that's all that matters. Most inefficient group of people on the planet.
Thank you, I thought I was losing my mind reading these responses. "Cameras on!" is just more boomer micromanagement.

I don't turn my camera on and I've never asked or expected anyone to turn their camera on. Share your screen if you have something to show me, but I don't care what you look like while talking.

my old boss insisted everyone in the meeting have cameras on.
He was such a dick, he knew people were rolling their eyes whenever he spoke.

Sounds like a problem low-paid, low-importance cubicle dwellers complain about.

I turn my camera on internally. I’m rarely dealing directly with clients but if I am, sure I’ll turn on my camera.
Vendors can get fricked.

Before Covid not a single person said “man I wish we could have video calls so I could see peoples faces when talking on the phone.”
When covid sent everyone home, all of a sudden a video call was expected for everything, and now people think it’s not even a question whether to use one. It’s the most unnecessary annoying feature.

I turn my camera on if I called the meeting. Otherwise, it's often turned off, especially if it is a meeting in which i am mostly listening.

I'll turn the camera on for a small group discussing something important.
Most meetings I leave it off so they can't see me working on other things that are actually important.

I turn my camera on in small meetings if others are doing it. I just go with the majority in the meeting. Our office in The Hague always use their cameras. For very large meetings, (Training, Town Halls, etc.) I keep it off. I don't see the point of having it on in these meetings so people can see me staring at my monitor. What is the point?

Holy shite, you got him good!
Don't need you looking at me while I'm on a call you pervert. And nobody wants to see you either. Business was done for decades without video calls.
