Coca-Cola had been the market leader for 100 years. Absolutely insane that they thought changing the formula was a good idea.

It was done to mask the transition to hfcs instead of cane sugar.

Cutting cost may be different story.
That was the entire point of listing it.

It failed in its purpose of reducing costs.

Now, when you add up the costs, along with the cost of internet to stream, it is more expensive than cable.

Then, we can get into how ads are making a comeback, which was also an original winning aspect of streaming.

That’s the theory I’d always heard as well.

Coke had been losing out to Pepsi in blind taste tests because Pepsi is sweeter tasting than Coke and in short isolated tastes was considered more desirable.

But aside from all the taste test stuff, Coke was looking for a way to move the majority of their product from cane sugar to the cheaper HFCS.

So they came up the brilliant marketing idea based on “the people want a sweeter, softer soda” essentially.

They took the Diet Coke syrup formula, sweetened it with sugar and branded it New Coke.

It failed out the gates with the old school Coke fans - so they kept it on the market long enough to build a massive consumer demand for the old Coke.

Coke takes the original formula, sweetens it with HFCS and Coke Classic is born.

The theory also implies that Coke would later use the original formula and artificially sweeten it to make Coke Zero.

Coke is super secretive, so I suppose nobody knows for certain how much of any of it is true - but it seems like a pretty damn solid theory and a marketing marvel.

Maybe I'm autistic. He said, "cutting cable," not cutting cost. I took him at his word.

Up to 4 pages and Titan Explorer hasn't been mentioned yet?

And the OP thought relish was the good idea that failed?

From Cord-Cutting to Cable 2.0: The Evolution of Streaming Looks Just Like Cable TV

quote:

The Rise of Streaming: The Cord-Cutting Revolution
When streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Prime Video first emerged, they offered a promise that appealed to a generation disillusioned by the cable model: affordable, on-demand content with no ads. Subscribers were eager to cut the cord and abandon expensive cable bundles in favor of more flexible options. Streaming allowed viewers to choose what they wanted to watch and when, without the burden of paying for channels they didn’t use.

However, the success of these platforms quickly attracted competition from traditional content powerhouses. Disney+, Max, Peacock, Paramount+, and others entered the market, creating a fragmented streaming environment where each service offered exclusive content. What started as an affordable alternative to cable soon became a complex web of multiple subscriptions, as viewers needed to pay for several services to access all the shows and movies they wanted. The low-cost dream of streaming was quickly fading, replaced by an ever-expanding list of platforms to subscribe to.

It described the likely radiation exposure as "minimal, about the equivalent to a day’s UV exposure from the sun", provided that the radioactive samples were not removed from their containers, in compliance with the warnings in the kit instructions.[

Was supposed to change the world

Distinctly remember a tour group on the river walk in Wilmington, NC with those things in front of a restaurant I was eating in when an Asian tourist lost control and took a hard left into a wall almost falling with it into the river.

Zone was a great music player. Just hit the market way too late when the iPod was already starting to look dated with the advent of the iPhone.

The Apple Newton. A handheld portable computer was clearly a great idea, the technology to implement it just wasn't real easy yet.

There's lots of tech products like that throughout history.

If Trump can get all the bs emissions and fuel economy crap removed from vehicles.

AFM, AutoStop, Exhaust regs, Hybrid mandates, etc.

It will singlehandedly make his term a success. That bs adds a ton to price of vehicles, the maintenance cost and lessens reliability. It is an unseen tax on all Americans.

Fortunately, my truck deactivates this whenever the A/C is on or towing mode engaged which is probably over 90% of my drives.
