Problem with tenant moving out

Ok so we bought a house recently back in January. The house has a young family in it who were related to the owner that was renting the house month to month, no contract, mostly because the owner wanted someone in the house to keep it up. We were nice enough to give them 5 months to find a new place, and they signed a rent contract with us that states they must be out by June 1st.
Well now we are hearing through the grapevine that they havent even looked for a place and don’t intend on moving. We are going to send an eviction letter from our attorney stating he has 45 days and must be out on or before June 1st. Since “hearing through the grapevine” isn’t always accurate we have emailed them to ask if there was going to be a problem but aren’t getting a response.
My question is, if they aren’t out by the agreed date, what can legally be done? Will the Covid moratorium on evictions come into play here? (They have money and jobs and pay rent on time)

Repaint the walls and throw all of their toys in the trayysssshhh (if they have kids). The parents are probably at the dog track getting wasted.

You want to “evict” someone ~2 months before their lease is up based on a rumor?

If they pay rent and arent destroying it why are you booting them?

Signing a rental agreement during covid moratoriums was retarded.

Establish dominance. Take a dump on their bakers rack.

Nothing according to the CDC.
ETA: And I would get some verification of the rumors before doing anything too crazy. Why do you want these tenants out if they pay on time and aren't tearing the place up?

What kind of fire insurance do you have on your new home?

Maybe they intend to move into the house themselves?
If that's the case I don't know why they would buy a house with existing tenants in it though

Have you talked to the owner?

Yes.
If you have god tenants that pay on time, I wouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. This is something that should have been considered before you bought the house.

You guys didn't read the post. OP is essentially worried that the tenants aren't going to be gone on their agreed upon date. I wouldn't rely on rumors and just wait and see what happens. Maybe check in around mid May and see how they're doing.

fricked up by being nice enough. If only you had made the rental contract some absurd amount if they stayed after June 1st.
As it is, congrats on your new long term tenants.

I know y’all are going to hate this, but...
Instead of getting an attorney involved you should offer them money to move out. It typically speeds up the process and saves you money in the long term.

No, asking someone directly and resolving a misunderstanding is a stupid idea. OP should continue to make decisions based on what the Karens on NextDoor have been saying.

Sounds like he's moving into the house. OP bought the house from previous owner who was renting to his family. OP takes ownership of the property and signs agreement with tenant to be out June 1st so he can move in.
That's what I took it as anyways.

If in Alabama, the tenant has all the cards. It’s not like the old days when you could go turn the power or water off. These types of folks jump from house to house knowing they will not pay and or BS their way to stay somewhere for free until finally leaving just before the posse arrives. Been there, done that, got out of the rental game. I didn’t intend to be in it to start with. My experience was 10 years ago so hopefully it’s gotten better for the owner, but I doubt it.

I know but if its a rental property why are you worried about booting apparent good tenants?
