Do you guys understand how little it takes for the Police to justify "Probable Cause" to pull you over?

It is freighting how little it takes to pull you over and ask you EVERYTHING!

We all know you can get pulled over for an obscured license plate. Did you know that the the little frame on your license plate that the dealer puts on makes your plate obscured ?

This is why you only do one illegal thing at a time.

That's why I bought a frame that obscures no part of the plate and handed the dealer's shitty frame back to him when I took delivery. Between that and my orders to not put the dealer badge on the car, the salescritter looked like his feelings were hurt because I wasn't letting him advertise on my car.

If you don't like probable cause, you're gonna hate reasonable suspicion.

Best one they like to pull you over is having one of the two lic plate lights out. Your car or truck alarms for any lights out but these.

Touching the fog line, changing lanes without signaling, speeding (by any amount), following too closely, license plate light out, license plate obscured, windshield view obscured by object hanging from mirror.

Those are some of the common grounds that drug interdiction cops give to make a traffic stop. They admit they don’t give a shite about the traffic laws or safety. They just want to feel the driver out and maybe get consent or develop probable cause to search the car.

The Supreme Court says that is perfectly legal. The cop’s subjective reason for the stop does not matter if there is an objective although bullshite basis to suspect a traffic violation, no matter how trivial. And if Flash the coonhound paws at the car, that is probable cause to tear it apart.

What a country!

Listen, dummy. It doesn't take probable cause to pull you over. It takes reasonable suspicion.

Probable cause is actually a tough burden to meet and when PC does exist, it usually means you're getting arrested.

Reasonable suspicion, on the other hand, means there is a set of articulable facts which means you might be involved in criminal activity. Based on this, you can be detained, either while walking down the street or pulled over in your car.

On the other hand, how often do people get “pulled over”?
I put 40000 Miles a year on my truck. Never been pulled over unless I did something wrong. Quit worrying about something that probably won’t happen.

The license plate light is the biggest bunch or horse poop ever.

If you are driving around after 11 pm is their probable cause
