If you remember this guy from Dual Survival he offers some tips for hotels. Dale and him have an entire series on it. I made my wife watch a couple. The more ya know.
I also think a lot is bullshite, but I never put anything past anyone.

People like to overcomplicate problem that have already been solved, such as this.
Just use the inside lock, no need to move things in front of the door. If someone wants to break in past the indoor lock while you're asleep in a very public hotel, I don't think we're at a point where what you blocked the door with will help.

Are you a 18 year old women? No ones breaking in on me as an adult man. There's much much easier targets. If you are traveling alone as a woman, sure take some precautions.
