Whittle just bought a $3M house. Good to be at the top of the pyramid.

You Jim Halpert'ed him?

I saw go for it. Average yearly earnings is about $5200 dollars. Not 52000. 5200.

According to Primerica, these 100,000 reps make on average, $5,156 a year. Hardly enough to do anything with let alone live on.

Good luck.

Same way Amway does. Their business model is based on an old saying that PT Barnum (allegedly) made famous, "there's a sucker born every minute."

"Recruits" are charged $200 to even sign up.

ETA - It's a flawless business model. Charge people to join, then pay them only if they actually generate fees. Primerica isn't out a penny in the deal.

Quite a few years back I saw an old boss at the bar one night (35 year old). Dude had quit his job ($80-100k) and started selling Primerica full time. He was "fricking killing it".

I then inquired on his living arrangements since he was recently divorced, to find out that he was living with 2 other "ballers" in a trap house near Centenary in Shreveport. The icing on the cake was the late model Camry he was driving.

But he was fricking killing it and wanted me to help him grow his business.

I had two older men approach me within three weeks about working for Primerica. One man was my Uber driver after the Saints Panthers playoff game. The other guy was a man I helped load something heavy into his truck at home depot. After I helped him he immediately starts off with "do you want to make more money...." These guys are relentless.

I used to work for a company that did the physicals on people when they would get life insurance. Primerica was the biggest joke. I always had a hard time getting the clients to schedule their exams.

I "worked" with them for a summer in college. I was young and dumb. Wait no, young and retarded. It did give me some good cold calling experience, and a good eye for bullshite alerts from there on out.

If you want to do life insurance sales go to Northwestern, Mass mutual, etc. Be forewarned- you're going to get your teeth kicked in and feel very frustrated.

My wife got roped into a meeting with an old high school friend. They bought us dinner. Seemed like normal people too. I just wanted to drink margaritas and talk sports like a normal weekend out with friends. Had to sit through that nonsense.

How do you feel about fricking over those closest to you?

I know a Primerica rep who in 2007 consolidated his cousin’s mortgage into a 15 year loan. Doesnt sound too bad, except he consolodated it with their 2 vehicle loans, so their interest rate went up as well as the financing term.

Cut to a few years later and now their main focus is insurance and investments

To be fair, it's not going to kill anyone in your family to purchase term insurance or something like that. However, recruiting people to fork over $200 for some absurd dream is ridiculous.
