Intelligence community doesnt want it released because it will reveal how we got intellegance from the USSR and Cuban embassies in Mexico city along with Mexican participation in US intellegance gathering.
Also will probably show they knew Oswald was going to attempt to kill jfk but didnt do anything to protect their intel techniques and they thought he would fail.

Ding Ding Ding. Intelligence community is absurdly protective of ways and means. Especially those involving agents on the ground.
Even if they aren't taken out back and shot, family of those who gave info will still have to deal with crap over it. Job application: "Oh look, its the son of the traitor."
And in todays information age, any and all abuse stands a decent chance to make it global. Don't you think that would discourage future agents?
