So the rules of liberty become very specific when it doesn’t fit the agenda. Got it. Asking someone to wear a mask =/= liberty. Forcing somebody to go to work during a pandemic = liberty. And it is happening. To people i know.

Well, "asking" is ok. "Wear a mask or don't come into my store" is ok. "Wear a mask everywhere in public or face consequences from government" is different. If that's not happening, great. If it is, it's an infringement, without question.

I'm sure you have no idea what actual liberty is. However I'll play along. No employer can FORCE someone to go to work. They can say that they need their employees to work during this time and choose to not pay the people not working which is well within their right. In free states, they can choose to terminate any employee for not showing up for work. In return for this employers freedom we offer freedom for the employee. They are free to work wherever they are able to get employment. They are also free to terminate said employment for any reason unless they are under a contract. See, liberty works for both sides.
On the mask issue. The only problem I have is governors saying you cannot be outside without a mask on. That in turn isn't asking people to put on a mask. It's mandating it. However if a store wants to mandate all their customers have a mask, then they're within their right to choose that mandate and customers are within their right to choose to not patronize that store.
The rules of liberty shouldn't be up to any agenda. You should be free.

I don't understand what we think will be different in 2 or 3 weeks that will justify further damage to the economy that, for all anyone can say, might mean the difference between us being able to recover and us falling into the abyss economically.
It seems like we are repeating the mistake we made in March. Making momentous decisions based on unreliable data, where all we know for sure is that we are doing some amount of serious damage to the general ability for people to make a living.

Keep in mind I mentioned it was just a hypo and I didn't think it was the choice presented
I'm just making the argument that one longer liberty intrusion is better for our long term societal health than multiple short ones.

it's the same people who likely don't understand what "freedom of speech" actually is.
The employer is free to make up the rules of employment. some require you to be in the office from 8-5. some require you to dress in a certain manner. Why in the hell are we now seeing people bitch about the mask issue? It's no different than anything else that you'll find in an employee handbook that you received on day 1.

I think he generally makes decisions that will benefit him in the short run, and there is no such decision in this case.
