That's because no one, including you, have clearly defined what these "assault-style weapons" are.
This guy gets it. "Assault-style weapons" is nothing more than some generic bullshite title made up by people who want to restrict and repeal 2nd Amendment rights.
It's loosely defined term that has no legitimate meaning other than how they think something looks. The "Assault weapons ban" from the 1990's was all about things dealing with cosmetic features... folding stocks, barrel shrouds, muzzle breaks, etc. You could still go into any gun shop and buy a completely legal "NON ASSAULT WEAPON" that did all the things that banned rifles could do.
It's absurd.

Having read your earlier post, I agree without sarcasm that you ARE too fricking stupid to come up with your own ideas about gun control.

Says who? It might be unnecessary to you but not to people who love the sport of marksmanship.
Who are you to say what is necessary or unnecessary?

It could have easily been a privately owned condo complex across from a huge festival area. Or an office building.....
Truth be told, people will talk, like they do after every mass shooting, and we will just go about our daily lives until the next one happens. There is no answer to this problem, people who want to do these kinds of tragic acts will always be able to get access (legally or illegally) to what they need.

You are a bad person for liking guns and you should feel bad

What about all the porn that gets filmed in hotel rooms? Nothing in your bags but condoms, lube, and HD cameras

I get his position - I wish we could stop this kind of stuff too - but logic dictates there is essentially nothing you can do. These laws/bans are ineffective.

I hope this dude didn't have any suppressor. If so, Pelosi just creamed her Depends

I love the general trend of these threads:
1. If you support any type of gun control you are an extreme liberal.
2. Extreme liberals are functionally retarded.
3. Functionally retarded people know nothing about guns and are easily fooled by liberal propaganda.

All it takes is a quick look at places like Chicago. Oh you have a gun ban... hows that working out for you?

Wrong! 77% of NON-GUN OWNERS does not equate to "Most Americans".

Read your posts.
BTW, good job on not actually answering anything and just going to the personal attacks.

I have a strong feelings that major hotels will be required to check your belongings at check in sooner rather than later.
That seems completely unrealistic to expect hotels to have TSA style screening. They aren't going to add an additional person just for screening stuff and from what I've seen front desk personnel is a pretty high turnover job so paying to train the front desk staff to do it seems like a lot of added expense as well.
Also, if I wanted to sneak a bag in all I'd have to do is wait until the time of day when the only on duty front desk person is distracted by a line of people. There really isn't a reasonable way to harden hotels. This isn't airports where you only have about one per major city and people with business there only enter/exit once. People are in and out of their hotels constantly and they bring friends or even people they just met.

I don't think they will try and go after the 2nd amendment. That would be political suicide.
The gun genie is out of the bottle in the US, there are just too many out in the wild already and 3D printers will mainstream in the next decade. Even if you made all gun sales illegal tomorrow the people that wanted guns would be able to get them.

Not constitutional amendments.
You can't change the Fourth Amendment with a Swing of a pen
