I was surprised when I asked about the gun laws in TX when I drove out to CA. Besides California, they had the most strict laws on my whole drive.

Of course California is the most asinine because you have to have your mag in one locked container, and your gun in a separate locked container

I also live in Texas, an open carry state. And every time I'm in Kroger or wherever with my kids and I see someone with their gun out and in a holster for everyone to see(which they're ONLY doing as a "look at me" thing, but that's a different story) I can tell you in no uncertain terms that I feel less safe because I have no clue what kind of training that person has using a gun.

Kind of. Texas is not a true open carry state like Louisiana where you can open carry without a permit, in Texas you still need a CCL or LTC to open carry.

So you have a clue that they have passed the permit classroom course and shooting proficiency tests. (or similar reqs if residents of reciprocity states).

It wouldn't matter anyway. There are so many high capacity magazines out there

You can 3D print them now. Legislation would do nothing but drive a huge boon in 3D printers.

And relentless propaganda. "If we just ban 'this' mechanism, it will all be alright."

Ask Chicago. Hell, ask any place that "bans" them.

It would be easy to bring 10 rifles in, lots of folks at Vegas hotels would be bringing large amounts of luggage in and out, you would think nothing of it, if you break an AR down into upper and lowers, you could fit them in a Medium to large dufflebag with no problem.

You could fit a few in an oversized bag.

A guitar case, for example.
