Lottery officials say the cash value for Wednesday's jackpot, if taken as a lump sum instead of spread out over 29 years, is estimated at $465.5 million.

It's been three months since a Powerball player took home the game's multimillion-dollar jackpot. Wednesday night could see another lucky winner, with an estimated $750 million up for grabs. It's the fourth-largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history.

If you buy tickets when the jackpot is less than a billion, you're trashy

Can't win if you don't play.

I'd settle for being lottery wealthy, assuming $465,000,000 cash is wealthy. I'm not sure what the "OT Wealthy" minimum is these days.

If it is $500,000,000 minimum I'd settle for being almost OT wealthy.

$465MM would buy several Diet Dr. Peppers and I have only so many years left. I think I could stretch it out.

Spend less on something you'll never win and maybe that'll change.

But probably not.

The number they use to pump up the prize is basically fraud. $465 million is a lot of money, but it's a hell of a lot less than $750. Taxes, at least living in my state, are taking out another 42%. Again, $270 million is plenty, but it's not anywhere close to 3/4 of a billion.

Lottery is just a sting operation to catch time travelers.

We all know this, it's just for fun. 750 million is what some of us here keep in our car consoles.

I won $1,000,000 in the Mexican Lottery. Pays $1 a year for a million years.

I don't see the problem with buying a ticket for 2 dollars. If you win it changes your family's life. If you don't then you just threw away 2 dollars. If you can't afford to throw away 2 dollars a few times a year then you are in alot worse shape than most on here.

If you are young and don't want to fret over it, you take the annual payments.

Then it's 750m.

You can even sell some years and get cash if you are short in 2034.

The smart winners would do this.
You'll never be out of cash.
