There are 500 LANG people there now and another 300 doing security per the press conference I just heard .. the NG guy said that.

There are over 6,000 Guardsmen activated for this. West Calcasieu has plenty of help. It may not be exactly what they want but I'm here to tell you the Louisiana National Guard is spread pretty thin right now. Everyone is doing the best they can.

There is talk of a complete rebuild on some of the power infrastructure due to the amount of damage. I know AT&T has to rebuild a lot as well. They were hit hard and it looks like a war zone. I spent most of the weekend clearing trees there.

I went to Lake Charles Friday to help out for a coupe days. As we were driving down from Dallas and were close to the border we were talking about how little debris and what not was on the road I told the guy riding with me wait until we get into LA and sure enough as soon as we crossed the Sabine the debris situation got much, much worse. I know the storm wasn’t that much different in 100 years.

Her and Mm should have been jailed for squandering the resources they could have used for evacuating NO

No to mention they're deploying soon. I talked to the Colonel's wife (personal friends of ours) and she told me that they'll be relieved soon by out of state units so that they can focus on their deployment. I think it's September or October?

This is bullshite.

I’ve seen at least 500-1000 trucks driving into the parish.

This is how rumors start and people start complaining and explode on Facebook. Power people are crawling everywhere.

As of 4 pm today, over 60% of customers affected had been restored. Crews have come from over 20 states to help. They’re doing the best they can but it’s never fast enough and it gets harder as they go. Total rebuilds in some areas.

Blanco did a bad job but this is the version of history Karl Rove wants you to believe. Bush screwed the pooch too.
