You weren't wrong at all. I just thought it was funny someone was clarifying something I said rather than arguing with me about what I said. There's an old post where I talked about the widespread availability of GLP-1 agonists as a the most likely method of dealing with obesity. I think it was from one of those threads where that one workout guy kept misunderstanding what I was saying.

The next step is to develop a Beta-3 agonist targeted at adipose tissue and then we will have the perfect, drugged up society.

Pre-diabeetus can get it covered by some insurances.

That was straight from ChatGPT

I've even got that bad boy writing Suricata rules for me for work.

Noice. I wanted it to give me an idea of how to transcribe all my notes to LaTex so I could look very fancy but alas I don't have the time or patience to copy and paste that much.

You better start simping before they lose any of that weight.

If you haven’t put in any work by the time they start looking decent, you better be a man dime yourself because those women get REALLY selective once they’re feeling themselves.

If you think fat chicks have been sex deprived because of their size, boy are you in for a surprise.

That’s only a thing for men.

You must not have people you love with diabetes. My wife (No pics) has used this and it helped her. But it’s so bad now that she is trying a new drug. If this one doesn’t help the next step is dialysis. And by the way she definitely isn’t fat. My rant is that what you said is not a blanket statement. I agree with you that so many people have used it for weight loss. A little info. They have changed who can get it to people with the type 2 diabetes which they should have done from the beginning. Who knew big pharma was not able to figure this out from the beginning.

These people are losing muscle mass along with fat. It will be interesting to see the long term consequences of these meds.

in my case, this is not correct. i get measured weekly and over the last 6 months I have lost 43lbs. 38 being strictly fat. I started on mounjaro, and have switched to semaglutide due to insurance issues. I am not type 2 diabetic.

everyone clamoring for more and more pharmaceuticals to gobble...

stop eating so much so often and get some exercise. Start shopping at a farmers market and ignore the grocery store and fast food. Grow some vegetables in the backyard. Take a walk every day. Ride a bike.

or dope yourself up I guess. 220/221, whatever it takes

How do you get measured? Calipers? Do you resistance train and eat 1g protein per kg?

but tons of doctors are trumping up bullshite A1C numbers so they can prescribe it.

How does one "trump up" a hemoglobin A1C level? I mean, does one just call the lab and ask them to fake it? Or are you using the argument that elevated A1C alone is not valid for a T2DM diagnosis?

doesn't address the main problems. I say this as an obese person, the majority of us are just shitty at portion control and lazy

80% of the US are overweight, so that statement can’t be true. The main problem is not the people, it’s the way we live. We can’t adapt fast enough for this environment. Maybe one day we will have an eversion to smoking and overeating like we do rotten meat.

It’s like blaming a mouse for choosing cocaine over water in a Skinner box. Where when they are in a social park setting they don’t choose the Coke.

Most people can lose weight, but they can only tolerate it so long. That’s a testament to the draw of the reward of high calorie food more than someone’s ability to suppress biological desires that have kept us alive for 100k years. 80% of people gain the weight back on any diet or “lifestyle change” so it’s a moot point to say they’ll gain the weight back, but they never have to stop taking it.
