You guys are overstating the importance of GLP-1 agonists.

GLP-1 agonists are important because they are a class of medications that can effectively manage type 2 diabetes. GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) is a hormone produced in the gut that stimulates insulin secretion and lowers blood glucose levels. GLP-1 agonists mimic the effects of GLP-1, and therefore help regulate blood sugar levels.

In addition to their blood sugar-lowering effects, GLP-1 agonists have other beneficial effects, including promoting weight loss, reducing blood pressure, and improving cardiovascular outcomes. They are also associated with a lower risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) compared to some other diabetes medications.

Overall, GLP-1 agonists have become an important treatment option for people with type 2 diabetes, especially those who struggle to achieve glycemic control with lifestyle modifications and other medications. They have been shown to be effective, well-tolerated, and offer several additional health benefits beyond glycemic control.

Lol, the MAs at one site always steal any mounjaro that the drug rep drops off. The presentations by the reps are for them anyway lol. They also stole the ozempic samples before, but never the rybelsus.

Is this the drug that's meant for diabetics? If so, all the fatties' doctors should be tar and feathered for causing a shortage and a huge increase in price.

If not, disregard.

Nothing

A) Once you stop using it, the weight comes back

B) People will try to let drug do all the work. Won’t change dietary or lifestyle. So they will still be fat, just slightly less fat.

The drug could be good to jumpstart a life style change, but it likely won’t happen. People will still get their 600 calorie iced coffee every morning and their 1,000 calorie salad covered in dressing. Difference is they will check in at 5’8 240 instead of 5’8 270

I use soy milk, so that's healthier.

It's a salad, so it's still healthy.

Isn’t the whole point of the drug is that it changes your diet indirectly by severely suppressing your appetite?

I say this as an obese person, the majority of us are just shitty at portion control and lazy, it's that simple no matter what narrative is pushed.

There's no doubt some truth to it. OTOH I have two siblings who struggle with weight. One only keeps it under control with a maniacal diet and exercise regimen. The other has basically given up.

I grew up in the same house, have the same genetic makeup. I work out, but not excessively, and I eat a really shitty diet. I'm a normal weight and if I gain a little, I eat less and lose it quickly. So there's more to it than just self discipline.

No. It makes you feel full and slows your stomach from emptying. People will still eat shite foods. Just slightly less of it.

TYPICAL weight loss on this medication is 20% of body weight. They can’t make the stuff fast enough for current demand. They for sure won’t be able to once the FDA approves it later this year for obesity. Right now insurance will only pay for this for diabetes, but tons of doctors are trumping up bullshite A1C numbers so they can prescribe it.

Yes it really is. Your post’s contention is that fatasses will continue to eat the same thing, continue to not exercise, but somehow lose weight. Dumb as hell

If it doesn’t have long term affects and helps with weight based health issues then the amount of money saved will be tremendous. Less fattys is good fir everybody and I say that as a guy who could shed 30 pds

They can prescribe it, insurance won’t pay for it unless you have a Type 2 diabetes diagnosis code on the script.

So they need the diagnosis code so people don’t spend $1200

That is exactly correct dumbass. The drug doesn’t change your taste buds. It literally makes you feel full. So a half a cheeseburger instead of a whole.

3000 calories instead of 4000.

They aren’t going to all of sudden start eating chicken and vegetables every day…
They will eat less of the same shite food

But only until they stop taking the shot, right? Or is the assumption that their stomach shrinks and your appetite change is more permanent?

It's quite the opposite.

Chicks who lose alot of weight more often than not turn into thundercounts, leaving the whole "big girls are happier and more fun" thing in the dust.

Correct. Once discontinued, most trial participants put the weight back on in a few months
