This ain't shite compared to back in 2006 when I was installing DVRs and pulling cables for surveillance cameras in South Louisiana in July/August in attics.

My wife works for the post office, and she tells me their LLV's are miserable during the summer. But, they're miserable all year. They are pieces of junk that are in their last leg

Plenty of framers and roofers knock off by like 2 during the summer. They get started at dawn to avoid the heat as much as possible.

I worked in them for a majority of my 30 years with the USPS. The vast majority have no A/C and no air circulation, save for a tiny fan placed on a metal lapboard that holds the mail. If you're even a few feet away from the vehicle, you're required to have the windows rolled completely up to protect the mail. That said, during Vegas summers, the guys that I really felt bad for were the contractors working on rooftops.
I was often asked what the main difference was between working in New Orleans summers and Vegas summers. I'd always say, in New Orleans...you leave the house dry and you're soaking wet in 2 minutes. In Las Vegas...it's exactly the opposite.
Honestly, the only time that it was really that bad was when I had individual businesses that required me to constantly go inside into the A/C, then go right back outside again. That was when you felt like someone had beaten you with a baseball bat at the end of the day.

Surface temp is way hotter than air temp in direct sunlight.
Go stand on a barge in the middle of the day. Air temp is 95F but that surface temp can get up to 150F plus.

Imagine how much less work they would have and how much earlier they could knock off if they didn't deliver all that fracking junk mail. just eliminate the "or current resident" mail and their workload would be less than half.
