Shhhh, this is one of those threads where we ignore facts and talk about how soft America is now and reminisce on how unsafe practices were common place when we were growing up and that somehow makes us better than modern folks as if society shouldn't be allowed to progress.

It sucks for postal workers, but USPS loses tons of money. If they don’t like it, leave and try to get a job with FedEx

They "lose" money because congress requires that they have EVERY pension fully funded for something like 75yrs. So it forces the USPS to make these insane payments they don't have the money for. If it weren't for that, they would be doing fine financially.

So I assume, he has a walking route, and has to park from neighborhood to neighborhood. And when he returns his vehicle is HOT!

Guess what? I park my black car outside my office in La., and when I get in it to go for lunch, IT'S HOT too! And then I roll my windows down to air it out as I pull away. Plus the A/C that is in it, I paid for. My my company, nor the taxpayers.

And btw, whatever happened to

If you don't want to drive in the truck, I assume it would be okay to instead walk with your mailbag to all of your customers.

My postman did this. He has been fat his entire life, told me he was 340 pounds last Christmas. Decided to change his lifestyle. Stopped eating bread, pasta and rice and walks his route. When he started he could only go about 1/2 mile. Last week he said he could do 8-9 miles a day now. He also weighs about 225, in about 7 months.

I was impressed, hope he keeps it up.

I guess the consensus is that having a hot lunch daily and seeing it get cooked in front of you, far outweighs the time spend getting cooked in the heat

Meh, overcooked that steak. Should be medium-rare.

It is actually just shy of mid-rare. Somebody doesn't know their meat temps.

True as may the inside of that plastic bag

Internal temp will increase but the overall temp will not get hotter than its surroundings.

Pretty good marbling but I’d like it to be at least another 1/4” thicker.

Is this the first year it has been hot there? Did they take away previously available ac?

I don’t care enough to look.

Dashboards get hot as shite. If his truck is averaging 128 ambient, I'm assuming the temps easily can reach into the 130s and touch 140. That black dashboard is going to be even hotter baking in the sun like that

Kinda my point.

Air conditioned vehicles didn't take off until the 80's. And yet mail, packages, furniture, materials, supplies, equipment, machinery, milk, newspapers all seemed to get where they needed to go despite that.
