Here's something weird I saw about a half hour ago. Stink bugs....too damn many of them. These just hatched not too long before this. The egg cap, or whatever is still on one of them.
Notice the weird symbol on each of the eggs. These little shits were dispatched immediately following the photo being taken.

Saw this luna moth today. It was still getting ready to take its first flight. I saw a luna moth caterpillar in this same area a few weeks back. I like to think it is the same one.
I wasn't able to ID this one, but it is a cool pic.
This, believe it or not, is a Batman moth.
And this is a salt marsh moth.
And this is a black soldier fly that has cool looking eyes.

The heron surprised me because I didn't see or hear it until it landed in the tree...I was snapping away, when I heard the hawk calling from behind me...I turned around, and it was gliding toward me from the west...it passed within 5 or 6 feet from me, then landed in the same spot the heron had been in...fun day for shooting!
