Pic from last year. I've never got a pic of one hanging.

This happened to my neighbor (two houses away) a couple of weeks ago.
No one was hurt.

I meant to post that I've seen the diogmites ones hanging. Never caught a pic of one, though. Or, asilidae, I guess is the family name.

A few random ones from the last week.
A tiny tan jumping spider eating a plant hopper.
Chickweed geometer moth:
Southern green stink bug:
I had been trying to get a decent shot of this little parasitoid wasp for a couple months now. I think we have at least two, maybe three species of this type wasp around here. It is maybe a quarter inch long.

Anything beyond the common names is above my pay grade
I'm missing out on a lot this year...I think we've had 2 or 3 days with a high temp under 100 in the past 4 weeks, and very little rain...last year, I was out nearly every day...this year, not so much...this is the pond...the water level is normally above the roots/bottom trunk of the cypress trees

You think I chose the latin/Scientific?
That one has no common name. I had to look it up.
I do my around the house looking in brief walks, maybe half hour each, a couple times a day. Only about half the time do I take the actual camera, I use the phone because it is just handier. Pics aren't as great, but unless it is something like the luna moth, I'm fine with them just to get the ID.
FYI: I've been using the Photoshop Express app lately for edits on the phone. It is nice. I'm probably going to get the paid version when the various free trials run out.

A friend of mine had a tailless squirrel raise a litter in a dead standing tree on his place a few years back. Something spooked her and she ended up moving them to another tree on the other side of his property.
She carried every single one of them in her mouth, one at a time. There were five.

A hackberry emperor butterfly, tongue and all:
What I think is a salt marsh moth caterpillar:
Don't smash this one with your hand if you see it. It is a blister beetle that will cause an immediate blister to form on your skin:
A dark flower scarab:
A lesser pine katydid:
A new wasp for me, a blue-winged scoliid wasp:
What I think is a Carolina praying mantis:
A snowy urola moth:
Some type of insect egg with either a parasitic wasp or fly on it. The eggs were less than a ¼" long and fly/wasp was maybe a 1/16":

Got this shot of the moon coming up last week over the beach. I’d like to crop those people out but I am an idiot and don’t know how.
