People on every side would do well to understand a HUGE amount of things we see on social media and beyond are simply a troll. Blue checkmarks also troll...blue checkmarks also troll. Apologies to the Big Lebowski. Many will say almost anything to get views. It is the same for Op-Eds etc.

It comes out as a tendency to try and somehow fix things in response to any report of a shooting or a beating. Depending on one's perspective, that could mean a call for more cops, more gun control, an end to the glorification of violence, etc.

No one ever says, "that guy may have had it coming." Violence is assumed to be the sole prerogative of the state (unless it's Iraq, Serbia, etc.), sometimes with exceptions allowed for protecting personal property or protecting against an armed attacker.

This wasn't always so. White history is full of duels. A Senator from the Deep South beat one from New England for accusing him of slave-fricking.

Violence has been the single biggest problem-solver in human history, by far. It's no coincidence that the societies that are "against" it have already piled up all the cash they need.

Look at Norway. How do you think they got the entire North Sea coast?

Slavery and racism have lingering impacts in the modern day. In very large part they aren't the fault of anyone living and they're not necessarily problems to be fixed, but they exist.

I don't know if these are unpopular in general, but, I think they'd be unpopular here

(1) Suburbs are where dreams go to die

(2) Tailgating aside, NFL football is a better product than college football. Better games, significantly better venues, easier to get to, and located in more fun cities

(3) Getting the COVID vaccine is a good idea, and anyone who had attended a major university the past 50 years had to get a slew of vaccines before enrolling as a freshman and I don't understand why it's a big deal

(4) The South has great people. The South also is easily the dumbest and fattest

(5) Mississippi is more progressive and thoughtful than Alabama and it isn't necessarily close

(6) NW Arkansas alone makes Arkansas a better state than Louisiana

(7) Louisiana is still better than New Mexico and Kansas

(8) Nick Saban is a much better coach and human being than Bear Bryant

(9) Basketball will be more popular than Football in 50 years. Baseball will be a blip on the radar

(10) If a 12-team college football playoff means no more cupcake games, than it's the best thing to happen to CFB since the bourbon coke

(11) Craft beer is garbage

(12) Mountains > Beach

(13) Every single one of the wealthiest cities in the US have a heavy liberal presence. It's not all bad

(14) Huntsville is 1000X better than Birmingham

(15) You don't have to be the Rock, but having a dad-bod at 35 isn't cool either. Health is wealth

(16) NIL is long overdue. People were getting paid under the table anyways and the actual crime was tax evasion

(17) The Third Saturday in October is a dumb rivalry and we should allow Auburn to go the East

(18) The Louisiana SuperDome should have been scraped in 2005. The sightlines there suck

(19) Fayetteville is the best college town in the SEC. Oxford is next.

(20) Texas A&M fish is the most absurd orientation experience in higher education
