It definitely can be.
I'm OK with spending a couple of days just hanging on the beach and getting buzzed. After that I have to make it more interesting by surf fishing, going to the bay for crabbing and fishing. Kayaks and paddle boards break up the monotony.
I drug my kids to the maritime museum once when it was raining.

The entire LSU gameday as a whole is overrated to me. We gave up our season tickets a few years ago (go figure we won the natty the first year we didn't have them), and honestly I don't miss it.
Parking and walking across the earth, having to stand in long port-o-potty lines every time I have to pee, sweating my arse off in the stadium, the long walk back to the car only to sit in traffic for over an hour when I live ~7 minutes from LSU without traffic, etc.
Its just something you have to revolve your whole weekend around, and it is exhausting. Watching the game in high def in my living room with a clean bathroom, an open bar, and much better food has been awesome. And I can do other things with my day until game time. It isn't a whole weekend wasted.
It is like a micro-Mardi Gras in that it is way more fun if you have a great setup with food, close and uncrowded bathrooms, TVs, friends, shade, etc.

American white culture is too afraid of interpersonal violence. When this culture was at its peak, attitudes towards violence were closer to the attitudes of 2021 black culture than they were to those of 2021 white culture.

I definitely agree with this. I would never do Mardi Gras without the setup.
With tailgating, we don't have any family or close friends that do the tailgating thing, so that is probably a big factor as to why we got rid of our tickets. I imagine if we had the nice RV setup, it would be a totally different experience.
For a while there, we would sleep in on gameday and do a long lunch somewhere and then head to campus an hour or so before game time. But still, that 1-2 hours in traffic afterwards was awful.
Sometimes we'd go to WalkOns or something to wait it out, but that was boring for me because I couldn't drink due to not wanting to get a DUI.
