Had a friend who would do a drunk watermelon and carve it way too early every time. Literally cut a hole in the melon, drop the vodka in, and start carving

Not me, of course, but some of my kin-folk.

Lee High race riots spring of 1971. Made the national evening news.

there will always be ignorant arse people who will try and frick it up for the good ones out there.
I've had black customers call me a 'racist white-arse bitch' and a 'redneck motherfricker', and I've had a black co-worker call me a 'real n---a'.
I've had an elderly black woman ask to touch my hair. Apparently, I have 'good hair'.
Seen good and bad among all races, and came to the conclusion that trash has no color.
I'm a 58 year old white guy FTR.

Been going to Lsu football games since I was a kid in the 80s. I brought a black friend to a game 2-3 years back. No sooner had our asses hit the seats when the deputy in our area was asking us to see my friend's ticket. Been to hundreds of games over thirty years, ive NEVER had someone check my ticket at the seat. Was really strange.

If I wanted a dark girl, I’d have the pick of the litter. They love me for reasons unknown. (Hung).
All seriousness aside, freshman year at LSU I garnered quite a few black friends. They were my boys. It’s when I realized we’re all the same.
Roll back up to NELA, stopped in Ferriday for gas and beer. Walked out, threw beer in ice chest and tried to strike up a conversation with some brothers.
I was quickly told “we ain’t giving you a ride white boy, fuk off”
Quite confused, got back in my truck and quickly decided it’s how you’re raised. I’ll never forget it, and I’ll never like a Democrat from ferriday.

We had a maid when I was little. That woman love me like I was her own.so I did some dumb shite with the kid down the street and he got hurt. We are like 5-6 years old
The kids mom comes down to our house and demands that Doris produce me so she can give me a whipping. Doris declined and told her to talk to my parents when they got home. The woman was pissed and cursed her using all the words I wasn’t yet familiar with. She tried to come in and get me and Doris would not allow it. The woman was shocked that a black woman would stop her from doing anything she wanted which lead to a more direct verbal assault on Doris. Doris was a big woman, 6 feet tall. She just took all the woman had to say but stood her ground quietly.
There was some neighborhood fall out and hard feelings for while. But shite, I was 5 and all I knew was she kept me from getting my arse whipped .
Still, I couldn’t believe in my 5 year old mind that anyone would talk to Doris like that
She was awesome and I believe if she was still alive and I needed help she would come.
Still the best hamburgers I’ve ever had

I was a kid in the segregated South. I hated bumping into black kids because you knew they were going to try to bum money

I was the only "white" kid from grades 4 to 7 at my school, they all straight up evaporated after 3rd grade. The black girls were nice but the black boys bullied me mercilessly and endlessly. I stood up for myself and practically lived in detention, got suspended a couple of times. Really bad times. However my best friend was also black (the nerdy kid who liked video games) and he was also bullied endlessly. He moved to fl but we still keep in touch. Great guy who has done well for himself.
In short anyone who says only xxx race can be racist are disingenuous fricks who need to be drawn and quartered.

Here’s my experience as unpopular as it may be. Whites are way overly apologetic and many blacks are coming to expect it - When some blacks do not get the accustomed response from said treatment it many times leads to privilege check. Also, apologetic white people are inconsistent with their interactions with blacks. Perhaps the funniest things are watching white people interact with a black woman who has a baby and go way overboard with compliments

Black g/f on the sly in HS.
She’s a physician now.
The “down low” component worked for both of us.
Inb4 she didn’t want to be associated with you, etc.
The FDA lied: Brown sugar wasn’t bad for me.

I went to a DOD's school as a kinder gardener on Clark Air Force Base the Philippines. There was a little black girl that shared her cookies with me. Her name was Belinda. Those cookies to this day are called Belinda cookies in my house hold.

just don’t think it was like how people up north and other places think it was.
It definitely isn't. Outside of large cities, the northern and Midwest parts of this country are pretty segregated to this day. Just look at the black population per capita in southern states.
There are more black people living in the south as a percentage. So us who grew up in the south had more interaction on a daily basis with black people. Especially here in AL, where private schools aren't as prolific as it is in Louisiana.
Now that's not to say there aren't racist people in the south, because there are. There are also racist people who live everywhere else too. But it isn't as prolific as some would have you believe. Most stories about a racial incident I see on the news occur outside of the south, but when it does happen here, it is automatically played up as the south is just doing what it has been doing since the Klan was operating. But we all know that's not the case.

When I'd go fishing with my grandpa - there was a n*@# bayou, n**@# lake, n*#$ lagoon, etc. I must say I never once heard my grandpa say the word which was rare for his generation. I think the names might have even been printed on the map but I can't be sure about that. My brother and I were talking about this not long ago, the origins of those names. Probably someone saw a black dude fishing or crabbing in that area, hence the name.

Wife said she never had that many homes magically rent like that. They put in several of the offers on Tuesday and Wednesday because his wife was a nurse and they tended to look at rentals on those days. Tuesdays and Wednesdays aren't hot days for rental offers usually. Was it race? Sure was a coincidence if not.
Well this is actual racism. A lot of other stuff that gets called racist just simply isn't.

I grew up in a town that had only white people. I knew my fair share of racists. My parents did not raise me to be that way. Growing up, I was bullied pretty badly. I hated middle school. Pretty sure I developed depression.
When I got to high school, I made new friends who happened to be black. We played football together. Great group of guys. One day, one of the assholes that used to treat me so badly actually came up to me and said “Why are you hanging out with these n-word? They aren’t your people, we are.” All I could think to say was “Because these guys don’t treat me like dog shite under your shoe you mother fricker.” That stupid red neck trash walked away, and I don’t think I ever had to hear from him again.
