Possible inspection sticker change/stiuation

I've been hearing rumors about the state doing away with them all together even though I don't think that will ever happen but I pulled this off social media. What's your thoughts on this?

I took one of my brother’s vehicles to get an inspection sticker this morning. (We have the same address.) He gave me a sticker. I was told that next time he has to bring it in, or I have to have his license..... The state is concerned people are doing some things illegally..???? The inspection station is at the corner of 447 and Florida. He was not rude at all, just letting me know. IT IS A NEW THING COMING

Shouldn't matter because the inspection is for the vehicle.

I don’t really see why it matters who brings the car in as long as the insurance for the car matches. The place I go never even checks. They hit down my license info and slap the sticker on. They check literally nothing else

Louisiana is more likely to require a new one every 6 months than to get rid of them.

Something, Something... OT says "My butler takes all of my cars to the shop for me"... Something.

This lady was told otherwise by the guy at the station on hwy 447 and hwy 190 in Walker.
I just don't see how this can be tied to your license.

Maybe they're verifying that the registration is still valid, but that seems like a stretch for a strictly mechanical inspection station.

There is some discussion about getting rid of them but but not the fees. They'll just add that to your registration
quote:
Stonewall Republican Rep. Larry Bagley’s bill would eliminate the inspection requirement, but essentially retain the $10 fee by increasing the registration renewal cost. The money that would go to the local inspector under the current system would instead be earmarked for LSP, allowing the agency to hire an additional 150 troopers to patrol Louisiana highways.

They already voted it down. So now they are not only still requiring inspection stickers but cracking down on them. I got denied one yesterday.
They are also trying to enact a law for ticketing drivers for "having a phone in their hand." I'm just glad they are spending this time chasing down these true criminals.

I have no issue getting one for my wife's vehicle that has her maiden name on the registration.

No point in a blinker being functional when 90% of drivers never use them.
Highly doubt the state will approve a reduction in their coffer contributions though

Only way they'd get rid of them is if they came up with a solution where they could scam people out of 3x more money

Where is this place? Have a little tint issue I need someone not to look at.

We don't have inspection stickers anymore because there were too many fake ones out there. I still have to get an inspection but it goes into a database and when you renew your registration, they check the database to make sure you got an inspection.

I hope they add a note in there where the cops can not be on their laptop while driving too!
