Never understood why people don’t take off an extra day and go back today instead of dealing with Sunday traffic

Save yourself the trouble and move the TD headquarters to Baton Rouge.

I tried that, and it wasn’t much better. It took me 2 hrs to get from BR to Lafayette yesterday afternoon via 190/49.

This is not to poke fun or be ugly, but we were in Spring Friday and Saturday. My father in law and I agreed to drive home Saturday. He said to be in the roads Sunday would be crazy with the Thanksgiving traffic.

If I cant leave at a decent time on Friday I generally say frick it and just leave between 5-6 Saturday morning. On campus before 10 with zero traffic. It is a long arse day though.

first road soda about the Henderson exit?

Go ahead and grab a 6 pack tall cans at the Travel Plaza and couple links of boudin just in case there is a back up on the basin bridge.

it didnt used to be that way, more like Texas Rds = LA Rds
but it definitely is true now, especially between the state line and Beaumont

LSU game was Saturday nigh and I had an appointment to make in Lafayette sunday. I didn’t think about the traffic too much before hand, otherwise, I would have left sooner.

This right here...

it's the new normal for I-10 holiday/summer vacation weekend traffic. From Katy to San Antonio or from Sabine River to BR it's all the same and other than blaming it on folks looking at their stupid phones I'm not sure what to blame it on.

funny you say that, Chicken told me it took his driver 8.5 hours to get them from NOLA to Houston yesterday. I asked him why didnt he take the TD.com jet, and he said Larry Leo, TD Staff Reporter and Circus Child had it in the Caribbean at Richard Branson's Island. So he and Mrs. Chicken thought it would be fun for the chicklets to see America from the windows of the TD.com Motor Coach.

Worst day in the year to travel by car.. We went to Disney the Sunday after TG a few years back. It took us 3 hours to get from Gainesville to the turn pike. I-75 was a cluster frick.. I thought my wife was going to puke from the start and stop traffic...

I recommend using HWY90 through Liberty/Dayton until the San Jacinto Bridge repairs are done.

I would but the kids went back to school today and my dad was very happy to have the grandkids around for the holidays.

If you people want to move to Texas for "a better life" you should have to stay there

But seriously, the Sunday after TG is the single most traveled interstate day of the year.

If I travel for the holidays, I always come back on Saturday.

took 190w until it turned into TX-12w which takes you into Vidor. Moved at 65 the whole way with the exception of small town speed limits. Got into Beaumont and took 69 south to 124 west which took us to Winnie and then smooth sailing to League City. 5.5 hours
