Didn't he also say we should open our borders while he lives in a walled up gated home.

Well I guess this shows you that Catholics don’t read scripture anymore because a large part of it he book is believers waging war.
There is ample evidence in scripture that God supports his people when they wage a just war in his name. Pope Leo is not commenting on a just war. He is commenting on the utter disgrace that is unfolding in Iran.

I'm guess God ignored all of our founding fathers because they started a war.
A war that all of history deems righteous except for the UK.

And I’m saying this as a faithful Catholic who prays the Pope guides us to a more unified Church.
It’s Sunday. You seem to have balanced, respectful viewpoint.
On my mind and your post triggered a thought re “unified” in particular.
When lifting up to see world from the perspective of God and looking down on Earth…that is far from unified and seemingly growing in division…I wonder:
Was a unified world really His intention? And if Y, how does He view the culpability for the division (some/all man’s doing, God’s doing or other forces doing)?
Roots of division just within the Christian
sphere (Jews as chosen people, dichotomy of Christian faiths - within Protestant realm much less between Protestant & Catholic).
And this does not even get to between other world religions.
If 70% of world is Non Christian, I often wonder where God is placing culpability for such poor outcomes. Unless 100% of anything was never His intentions.
A bit heavy on Sun morning but your post was great for my further pondering. Sharing in that respect.

God also rejects those who don’t allow people to take communion in their church because they aren’t members of the “club”

So even a "pope" can use scripture out of context. I thought it was just religious leaders attempting to make their own personal points connect with Bible texts.

Leo is an imposter. All Popes since Vatican 2 have been imposters. Controlled by globalist.
Removing the illegitimate regime that stole Iran and terrorizes the world is a good thing. A free Iran will solve many world problems.

As Human slavery did not make God’s Ten Commandments, I would presume God whistled Dixie down by the riverside.
