And if they had not told the media would anyone have noticed?

Completely agree with the decision. On a side note, if you click on the link it's stunning out fat the teachers are in that photo. Every single one of them are 60+ pounds overweight. What the frick happened to this country?

Well to be fair, I think the people who got fired were white and the fight they were breaking up was between 2 black students. So that is why they got fired. Da racism

Props to them, but when push comes to shove, will they remain "out"?

It's a one day walkout to bring attention to the fact that there is no policy in place for teachers breaking up fights. The teachers were fired under the determination that they used excessive force and unnecessary language. There are no guidelines for procedure when breaking up a fight. It's another incident that has been turned into a race issue when the real issue has nothing to do with race.

Just arm the teachers.
That will solve it.

Front line troops can not be a diplomatic core. Teachers in public schools are asked to face situations that are only theoretical to those of us back home in the bunker.

Shocker plot twist: The mother of the student involved in the fight may not be a candidate for Mom of the Year.

Went there myself. Ponchatoulans are a riley bunch, seems like everyone is fighting someone. Hell I believe they invented the "meet me at Sonic" mantra. Probably originated with "Meet me at Hi-Ho" in the 80s.

It doesn't help that most of the fights that occur in Ponchatoula schools now days are kids that are bussed in from Hammond

Sucks that went out of style. I would think having a couple of their barbecue sandwiches would be far more satisfying after checking knuckles.
