Good. Pretty tired of seeing evangelicals trying to shove their morals down everyone else's throats through legislation.

Well its measurable, and objective. The concept of morals is quite subjective, and I am going to bet for many deeply rooted in religion.

Moving away from moral behavior? Why would anyone like this? If it doesn't exist, what does it hurt for everyone to have some sort of moral compass?

I think a lot of the countries declines in religeon, fatherless homes, divorce rates can be attributed more to the selfishness of the modern generations, than it can be to the decline of religious beliefs.

My issue is that I think, on the whole, Christianity supports attitudes and behaviors that benefit society. I believe there is something greater than myself that loves me, and that I should treat others the way I want to be treated. I know it's possible for someone who is not religious to feel the same way but I think the issues negatively affecting this country can largely be attributed to selfishness, and Christianity is largely based on acknowledging that the self is not the most important. "Society" today seems to stress the opposite- look out for #1 only, if it feels good do it, etc. I think you can see the damage that that does and Christianity tells us to do the opposite- not that we always do but at least we know we shouldn't.

Now other religions don't teach that and if I were in a different society that is more dogmatic I can see not being a believer. I guess my being a Christian personally is a net positive for me, and I think Christianity has been and would continue to be a net positive for the US but that's just my opinion.

Your moral compass should not come from what religion you choose to practice. If anything, morality precedes religion.
