I think religion is the worst concept that's ever been thought of by humans. It holds people back from really enlightening themselves. Religions enslave, kill and pull people apart from each other.

The way religion and Christianity in particular upsets some of you people is disturbing.

This. But to be honest, I haven't heard much about this since SCOTUS. Well not near as much as it was before. Now it's the movement for Tranny's and the like. That will be the next big push.

The truth is because you grew up in a Christian society in a Christian family. If you had grown up in Shanghai, you would be championing the tenets of Buddhism right now. If Saudi Arabia, Islam. People don't reason themselves into their religious faith. It is conditioned into them at birth based on when and where they are born. The question you need to ask yourself isn't "Is there a God" but "Why do I think that God is the God of the Christian belief system?". People don't reason themselves into their particular belief system and, therefore, you cannot very easily reason them out of it.

We never will. It's done. We lost the will to debate, to have compassion, and cooperation in most public debate. It's tragic how these things play out now because it's just going to get worse.

To each his own. Most people I care about in this world are somewhat religious. Doesn't irk me at all.
When someone tries to say my close gay friend and his partner are sinners going to hell and shouldn't be allowed to marry at a courthouse, I get a little pissed off.

I see where you come from, but it is a proven fact that Jesus Christ walked this earth and that he was sent by our God himself.

I guess I just prefer getting there without all of the BS religious dogma that comes with organized religion. Too much baggage for my tastes. Keep it simple. I find religion and religious dogma boring and closed minded for the most part. I like exploring and learning about the merging of scientific and spiritual principles, other culture's belief systems etc. and how that can help my faith to grow. Again, being raised as a Southern Baptist really turned me off to mindless religious dogma and closed minded thinking. If I had been raised Catholic and in a little more open minded and tolerant religious environment I might still be inclined toward religion a little more.
