When someone tries to say my close gay friend and his partner are sinners going to hell and shouldn't be allowed to marry at a courthouse, I get a little pissed off.

It is not for man to decide. But it is prohibited in scripture, does it bother you that some people believe it's a sin?

I see where you come from, but it is a proven fact that Jesus Christ walked this earth and that he was sent by our God himself.

Show me those facts then so that I might come to believe as you do. I have never encountered them and I grew up in a hardcore Baptist family going to church every weekend.

You could be the next billionaire if you could prove this

Because all of those other religions seem silly to you. I feel the exact same way except I think your religion is silly too

I never said those other religions were silly, in fact I know absolutely nothing about them. All I know is what ive been taught my entire life, therefore I will go by the word that was promised to me in the word of the Bible and by Jesus and God and trust that he takes me when I die.

This

"I hate close minded people that think gay marriage is a sin, they should be more open-minded and think exactly like me, dismissing the possibility that gay marriage is a sin"

No, it bothers me when people tell me or him that (which sadly has happened a lot. He's from Mississippi)

I don't think it's fair to say people asking for prayers are idiots. I know plenty of intelligent people who pray. But the concept of prayer is amusing. All studies that have been done on prayer show that it has no effect on actual events and whether you pray or not, everything that happens is according to "God's will" anyway so there doesn't seem to be a point other than to comfort yourself.

I understand it's a sin in your religion. Things shouldn't be illegal just because they are sins in your religion.

Does God read TD?

The idea of asking Strangers to pray for their sick dog is absolutely absurd.

Its all in scripture, is the proof I need.

And I personally have no physical proof. But if you do want something that will help you change your mind then watch this video of chariot wheels and bones found in the bottom of the red sea...

This has been a good discussion.

Sadly, I have to go back to my work

Till next time, my religious debate brethren.

That's great, but you made an argument based on pascal's wager- which is to say it's in your best interest to worship God because if you're right, you go to heaven, and if you're wrong you go to hell. It's a logical fallacy that tries to suggest that there is a 50/50 chance of the Christian God existing, but in fact there are thousands and thousands of other gods that you're ignoring. So from a percentage standpoint, you have almost the exact same odds of being wrong as I do, and I haven't wasted any time pretending to pay attention in church, giving money to a church, or stressing out about whether I'm pleasing the man in the sky or not

So when the family of the young boy, Sid Ortis, asked for prayers, you thought, "what a bunch of idiots." Just curious?
