The fact is, though, it is impossible to be "tolerant" of all views without imposing your own standard of morality, which everyone may not subscribe.

absolutely. Its called the liberal paradox. You can believe whatever you want as long as you believe you can believe whatever you want.
Its the fundamental issue we are having with islam.

Those who are religious generally believe in a objective morality. And, almost always, their religion is one that supports and espouses said morality.

No, you do not, but what is going to be the standard that people can look at and reference to be taught to treat others with kindness and respect? Take away all religious texts everywhere, then what are we left with? Also, keep in mind the movies, books, literature of all types, and art that were inspired by religious teachings. What are we left with then? .What should be the standard anyone lives by?
I mean, the entire Renaissance was period was inspired by religious differences, and Christianity was at the heart of the debate during the Renaissance.

How do you know this? What guide would you have used to teach you? Whoever taught you likely learned it from someone, who learned it from someone else...and so on....and where would have this idea of right and wrong have started? Explain to me that. Why would one thing be right, and why would it be wrong?
