Alito made reference to the Obergfell decision in his opinion, so yeah gay marriage is next on the list.

He’s addressing the flaw in applying Obergfell to the Mississippi law you dunce.

Missouri has already essentially passed something to that affect so it will be in dozens of states. And that’ll have to go to the Supremes too.

You cannot demand rights you deny to others. If you want the right to control your body, then the unborn child has the right to say what happens to it’s body.

Look, if someone came to me for advice over whether tp get an abortion or not, personally I would never advice someone to get one.

Good, because you don't know the difference between "advise" and "advice".

No exception for rape or incest in the Mississippi law it upholds. Yikes.

Do those exceptions exist in the constitution?

The entire point is that states can decide as long as they don’t contradict the constitution. It’s upholding the fact that Mississippi the state has a right to make that law.

Yeah, I noticed. One of the most impactful decisions in the past fifty years and it is getting the anchor.

I will support a woman with a huge decision like that.

What about the rights of the baby?

you aren't telling her what to do. She made the choice to allow the guy or herself to be unprotected....

Now a 3rd person is involved! A baby.

The key line of the majority draft:

"It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives…This is what the Constitution and the rule of law demand."

Well baws, it’s time to pack the Court…. PACK IT, STACK IT, SHELLACK IT, TALLYWHACK IT…. Moscow Mitch proved there are no rules anymore when it comes to the SCOTUS, so Amy Coathanger Barrett and the others must be stopped … and they will, you can take that shite to the bank .

I don't think Missouri has passed any of the proposals floated about curbing abortions in neighboring states, though I'm aware of the talk

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe Congress can pass a law allowing abortions if they so choose, right?

Basically Alito is saying the court shouldn’t be the one to decide one way or the other.

Justice Alito writes in an initial majority draft circulated inside the court.

If Alito is writing the majority opinion, it means that Roberts voted against it -- which should surprise no one, being that he's oriented more around being accepted in the DC culture than on leading principled discernment of constitutional values.

listen, I 100% understand where you're coming from. with any hard hitting ideologies, in my opinion, you're going to have the furthest left or right opinions. it's life or death. I get it. But to tell someone what they can and cannot do isn't freedom. we are encroaching on our lost freedoms year in and year out. there are so many reasons for and against. that's why I also believe in people having to take an I.Q test before they can have children. but that too goes against what I'm saying in regards to telling someone what they can and cannot do with their bodies.

Sure. But the moment a woman crosses state lines to have an abortion it becomes a federal question. Under the constitution and all.

Not how it works. There are several things that are legal in some states and not in others. The age that you can marry comes to mind. Drinking ages used to be different and the specific rules still are.
