When an individual has parents that are mixed, why is the default they are minorities vs white? Why is Mahomes black? Why is Tiger black?

FYI-children seem to naturally "identify" with the race of their minority parent in a psychological sense. It's cross cultural and consistent across the world. For instance:
I marry a Japanese woman and we live in America. The kids see themselves as "Japanese" . I marry the same Japanese woman and live in Japan and the kids see themselves as " white".
To be more accurate, it's not that they truly see themselves as the minority race, it's that they DEFINITELY DON'T see themselves as the majority race. It's an almost universal human reaction to not looking like the majority of people around you.
