Damn that's crazy. He asked for it though.

I wonder what the context behind this was? Was that chick he was holding hostage related to him? I wonder about that chick crying. That dude was crazy. I've always wondered how someone could or why they would do something like this.

Narration was great too bad he didn't have a better recording device. I think my first Blackberry had a better camera than that.

from the local news report, I believe she was a random chick that he grabbed in the parking lot when the cops showed up.

The other 2 girls crying, from what I recall the news saying were eyewitnesses.

I would have bet my life they were family members of the guy from the way they reacted

Exactly. That was not an easy shot at all, considering nerves, consequences and timing.

Cliff notes: hostage taker is shot, drops behind the car, narrator in typical black dialect says, "dayuuuum.....ooooooo........shite......oooooo.....dayuuuum....shot dat muthafricker.....oooooo". Stop watching after the first 40 seconds..... But, great accurate shot on a POS....

That shot saved the state hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees prosecuting and defending the guy and incarcerating him for years.

This. You have to know a lot of variables.

What is involved in police sniper testing? Military background? Confirmed kill? What's the qualification test like?"

Got to know a lot of things before being put in that situation?

Possibly.

But the dude was suspected of robbing that cash stores. If he had 2 family members present with him, I'd imagine they would have been arrested as well on the spot.

Plus, at that distance the sights and barrel on an AR aren't lined up so you have to compensate for that as well. Plus that guy free-handed the shot too. Wasn't propped up on anything.

That guy doesn't have to be a trained sniper to take that shot.

Watched again. Just realized he was the guy to the left. I also have no idea how long this took to unfold? The guy just started his video, so I guess not long.

He was leaning against the car. Did he have his arm braced on the side mirror? Tough shot. Plus highway behind the target? Ballsy shot, or that guy was escalating quickly and he knew he needed to take the shot for whatever reason.
