Plus size travelers are calling out airlines for making them purchase two seats.

LINKThe article even says that experts predict half of the global population will be overweight or obese by 2035. That is crazy to think how it got this bad.

They should give online users a heads up by letting us know where the “extended seatbelt” passengers are sitting.

I'd be curious if this is still the trajectory with the hot Ozempic/Wegovy/Mounjaro development. Feels like everyone is on it, and I imagine is only catching more steam by the day.

Totally support this. I personally experienced this over the weekend. Passenger needed an extra foot of seatbelt to strap in next to me. He slowly spilled over into my seat after moving the arm rest up so that he could eat 5000 calories of candy bars, chips, and jelly beans before we departed. Forgot to add the we sat on the tarmac for an hour with minimal air. Frustrating and uncomfortable to say the least.

I sat in the same row as an overweight woman last week on a flight. Full flight. She had rhe aisle so I grabbed the window. She had a piece of paper laying on the middle seat that said seat reserved. I heard her tell someone trying to grab that seat that she bought 2 seats and they couldn't sit there. I was blessed to be the only person on the plane not sitting next to someone else.

if you need a seatbelt extender you need to buy an extra seat.
