true, but if folks want to feel better about reducing plastic waste I'd prefer they did it with something like straws because that does not make my life more difficult.

I love how Starbucks quit using plastic straws in order to be more friendly to the environment...while still producing millions and millions of plastic k-cups

I deal with a lot of vendors in California. Ill usually toss 8-10 Chic-fil-a straws in the box. Started as a joke but Ive gotten calls telling me that they appreciate it.

Marine plastic source is much more do to lack of waste management systems in Asia. the stuff is just thrown in water ways to the sea.
If the enviromentalist would redirect their effort to garbage system improvement in Asia real improvement would be made. Fund effort to buy a garbage truck for Sri Lanka .
But that would be calling attention to minorities and considered racist

I don't give a frick what they do, but I have had a paper straw twice and they are shite. Give me a plastic straw, I am not the one dumping trash where they are having an impact on whatever. That's on the people dumping the trash.

I’m not a fan of paper straws at all but I also struggle to see why having clean oceans and rivers is not a universally good thing
