Obtuse has a great point, the people are the problem and they will find a way to be a problem regardless of what dogs are accessible to them.

This would be a self correcting issue if certain groups of people were not trashy frickheads.

Proud American Staffordshire terrier owner. Not a pitbull of course but gets stereotyped as one because of how he looks. Most anti pitbull freaks couldn't point one out if it was in front of them. All bully breeds aren't pitbulls. Similarly, all black Americans aren't "gangstas". But to hear the OT tell it...

Damn pittbull attacked your kid and you didn’t take the owner to sonic?

Poor kids bite by a pit and their dad post here instead of killing the dog and beating the shite out of the owner.

Supply and demand. When enough trash want one, backyard breeders will find a way to provide the supply.

American Staffordshire breed is 100% from the pitbull type. AM is one of the best breeds on this earth. I have two, and they are more disciplined and loving than any human I’ve ever met.
Ignore the internet chodes, they complain about everything and anything, daily.

I don't know how anyone can make a straight-faced argument that the people who want aggressive Pits will just give up that desire if Pits cease to exist. They will replace them with something and it is likely larger breeds that already have a high level of aggression.

I'm old enough to remember a time before 'Pit Bull' was a common thing. In my memory the 'vicious dog that should be outlawed' cycled through GSD, Rottweiler, and Doberman. Garbage people will always find a way to be garbage, and I agree when they get tired of Pits and discover the big mean dogs there's likely to be a lot more carnage.

Those breeds can be abused as well but the difference is pits are natural born killers, they are good for nothing. The statistics back this up

Even an abused GSD isn’t going to attack and maim anything in its path like a pit (yes, this includes the breeds you try to exclude from being a “pit”)

Anyone who lives rural should have a Kangal and Great Pyrenees. Nobody will screw with you. And a good shepherd inside for good measure.

Can we euthanize the trashy folks who use them to fight? Dead on discovery of a fight ring or those who breed and sell game dogs? And the officials who close their eyes to it and may also be involved? And those who abuse them? Humans have caused this. Just visit Louisiana pit bull and free pet pages. Easy to find the scum. Eliminate the pit bull and you will soon have corsos and mastiffs in its place. Humans are the worst species.

Dude frick pit bulls and the trash that owns them either because they’re ghetto or because they want to make a statement to the world.

You don’t see Golden Retrievers mauling infants to death.

I have one. I'll get downvoted. She's one of the best tempered dogs I have ever had. Truly submissive to people and other dogs.

I don't know if she will always remain that way, but I suspect she will, as she knows her place in the hierarchy. This can be said for all dogs.

Sincerely,
George Santos

Very similar to American violent crime stats. I don't think this is coincidental.

One dog. “It got past me.” But no leash to be seen. No fence.
