My friend and I were walking his collie when I was about 13 years old, it was a really badass dog. Pit bull comes flying out of an open garage door and latches on his dogs neck, shaking the absolute frick out of it. The pit bull owner was beating the shite out of his head and he still wouldn't let go, died on the spot.

I have one. I'll get downvoted. She's one of the best tempered dogs I have ever had. Truly submissive to people and other dogs.
I don't know if she will always remain that way, but I suspect she will, as she knows her place in the hierarchy. This can be said for all dogs.
I believe my Doberman has done a good job of letting her know that she is second to her.
My dogs are always supervised, even when I take them to the bathroom behind a closed, fenced in yard.
