Pit bull attacked a man and killed his small dog in a city near where I live

And predictably, a rush of people on FB saying ‘It has nothing to do with the breed, it is how the dog was raised!’
Did those idiots just admit that adopting an adult dog from a kennel could result in an attack since there is no way to know how a dog was raised?
And also ‘I was attacked by a jack russell there is no difference in breeds’
Why are people so desperate to ignore reality and defend this breed of dog?

Because admitting pit bulls are dangerous would require them to recognize that they are putting themselves, their families, and others in danger.

It’s unreal how many people have pit bulls. And it has nothing to do with demographics. Just as many white people have them as black people. They’re all trashy as frick.

It’s so weird how certain breeds of dogs are smarter or more aggressive based on genetics but traits in people are determined by purely environmental factors

People are just dumb about dogs. They buy dogs bc they look cool, they don’t know how to train them, they don’t know how to read their behaviors and stop bad behaviors. You have people who buy a German Shepherd and throw it in the back yard and wonder why it’s mean and out of control. You have a woman with a hyphenated last name rescue a pitbull and can’t control it when it kills a dog on their daily walk to Starbucks. People are just retarded about dogs in general.

It is all about demographics, just not about race.
If you smoke, have tats, live in a trailer, and spent more on a vehicle than you have in savings the odds of you owning a pitbull are astronomically higher than the average citizen.
Thats not to say all pits live in trailers, Section 8 neighborhoods seem to have a large supply as well.
