Damn shame the cvr was not installed on the aircraft at the time of the accident. I’m sure the conversation between the pilot and Bryant could be interesting.

It's a shame that a guy that has as much money as Kobe Bryant is flying in an aircraft that isn't equipped with the safety systems that would aid in avoiding an accident like this.
And I'm not being sarcastic here... I truly wonder if Kobe knew anything about helicopters and their safety systems. The company I work for has restrictions for approved aircraft that our folks can fly in, and the S-76 isn't one of them for this specific reason.
It really is a tragedy, because it seems that either through additional caution due to weather or additional education/investment on his part, this could have been avoided altogether. Really sad.

Your company is dumb as hell. TAWS only works if the pilot actually adheres to the warnings. It is evident the pilot wasn’t operating the aircraft with the intent to follow warnings.

I think you are trying to say your company’s contract requirements stipulate certain equipment to be installed and operable rather than saying the S76 itself is not approved for contract? Because a S76 can be equipped with every available option available for safe flight.

Normally I think the pilot would be most responsible but if the guy's income was pretty much dependent on keeping Kobe happy then it's probably a different story.

That’s the fricked up thing. People with money demand extremely dangerous luxuries like small, private aircraft (that crash ALL THE TIME), and then expect a massive payday via lawsuit when something goes wrong.

Anyone who has ever flown on a chopper for work or pleasure knows that inherent risks. That’s it, period. Bad deal.
