Ford Super Duty gets 925 lb-ft of torque, massive towing capacity...

Why not 1,000?

Assuming F-250 and below, the most expensive one is around $77K.

I'm talking a "regular" truck, not some special edition

not from the big 3, but internationals was/is over 100. And "regular" encapsulates pretty much everything for trucks now or you would still be in a sub 30k truck

As soon as they get done with the recalls, they're gonna dump more bricks in a Silverado.

Good idea for a F250.

I haven't been around the bigger trucks in a few years. I hope Ford fixed the fuel pump problems they had on the then new Ford designed engines.

My uncle just bought a new 3/4 ton Chev. 4x4 w/ Duromax. Really good at pulling his trailer and I was impressed at the quietness.

You could put a passel of little Wafers on that trailer...

I'll probably catch a ton of shite for this but the diesel HP/TQ wars have really just become a silly pissing match at this point. Any offering of the Big Three is more power than 99% of 3/4 ton pickup owners will ever use, myself included. Anyone who says they're upgrading from a 11-16 6.7 to a 17+ 6.7 because they need more power is a liar.

They are damn good looking though

Damn that's a good looking truck. My dad recently traded in his 2014 F-250 Lariat for a new F-150 King Ranch. I keep calling him a pussy every time I see him. I'll definitely be sending that pic to him to just remind him what could have been had he not been so impatient.

The 3/4 and 1-ton trucks can't haul anything heavy enough to warrant that much. I was putting around 550/1100 to the ground in my old one, and it was pretty hard to drive in the rain. I could fishtail at 70 when it was wet. Can't see that being safe any regular Joe schmo. I could turn my programmer up 75hp more, and it was almost un-driveable it the rain.

Then who am I to judge

I personally have the unrealistic dream of getting 20+ mpg out of my 4x4 on 35's like my 2wd 7.3 did, is that so much to ask for?

The nannies kick in pretty quickly on the newer trucks.

Once the tires get about 20K on 'em, you've still gotta be careful about getting on it in the wet, though.
