Found this on the weather channel website. I know most of these pictures are a bit old so I'm sure it's gotten even worse in recent years.

10 Creepy, Abandoned Theme Parks Left to the Elements

Daily News

I only went once or twice when it was open but it's crazy to see it in this shape. Are they ever going to do anything with the land? Clear it?

Apparently the one below was the setting for part of Jurassic World?

It looks like 95% of the rest of New Orleans.

Someone should buy the place, leave it as-is, and turn it into a paintball arena.

I was under the impression that the entire site was demolished and cleared since the time of these photo's. I could be wrong though.

Hauntingly beautiful.

RIP Jazzflags. You never stood a chance without a water park

Any future politician wanting to spend taxpayer money on projects like this should be forced to spend the night here alone for a week.

the whole problem is they want too much money for it.

they had dozens of companies looking to buy the property at fair market value "as it is today" but they want to sell it valued at its completely brand new not run down fully functioning price

they told everyone willing to pay a realistic price to go pound sand unless they wanted to pay 10 times its "real" value

I passed that area not long ago and you can see the rollercoaster is still up, but not sure about the smaller rides and buildings in those pics. I do know some movie scenes have been shot in there over the years.

Every few years I read where there is interest in doing something with the site, but it always seems to fall through.

Wasn’t this site also part of a protracted legal battle with regards to the insurance payout?

I seem to recall Six Flags won X amount in insurance but they were only allowed to have it if it meant reopening the park, which would have cost several times that amount for a park that wasn’t profitable to begin with.

Imagine walking through there, thinking you’re alone, and then you hear someone talking. I bet that would be freaky as hell

I was one of the few white kids that worked there Summer of 2000 I believe. That shite was fun as hell. Marquise Hill was in my department and I remember him bringing in the newspaper to work showing everyone that he signed with LSU and how happy he was.

Saw him out at Freds one night and he came up to me to chat and was super friendly. RIP to a great guy and a phenomenal player.
