I don't see what the big deal is? Certain cities like New Orleans, Bryan-College Station, and Key West are notoriously known for their huge homosexual population.

Initially, I thought no way this gets approved with the Vieux Carre Commission, but since they look a little light in the loafers, it may have a shot. Those people are history Nazi's but I guess they can put aside their historical preservation when it is for a cause.

Man I'm glad all these Livingston and St Tammany residents are so worried about our crosswalks. I guess that's what happens when you live in a place that isn't walkable.

This is New Orleans we are talking about.

President Bitch Landrieu will drag this out for a few weeks at least to help raise his national profile. Then it will cost at least half a mil cause Bubba's cousin gotta get paid.

You obviously do not know how gov't contracts work, especially in Nola.

They'll figure out a way to make it cost $100k, take 2 months, and inconvenience everyone in the area.

I have no problem with painting the streets whatever color they want, but don't waste tax dollars on it. I mean, Nola is already one of the most gay friendly cities in the country, why do we need rainbow streets proclaiming it?

What kind of crosswalks would honor straight people?

As a New Orleans new transplant resident, I actually like the idea.

I like how NOLA is not like the rest of the south in its closed minded attitude. We dont care about drinking, we dont care about debauchery, and we dont care about two beautiful men banging.

Paint the cross walks. Ill sign

why spend money to "celebrate" someone's sexual preference on a street. i don't get it at all. it isn't offensive as much as stupid.

In all honesty outside of San Fran and New York when I think of cities with a large gay population I definitely put NOLA in there.
