Wouldn’t a reasonable person have backed down from all the crazy Covid stuff by now and yet this Administration continues to 2x down.
This is a boiling a frog situation. If you throw a frog into a boiling pot of water then it will hop out. If you throw it into a pot of room temperature water and then slowly raise the temperature then you will cook it.
That is what is happening here with American freedoms. They are slowly taking them away at a rate where the average citizen won’t complain until it is way too late.
All the inflation and fuel costs and shipping delays ARE NOT naturally occurring. They are self inflicted.

The “harshest restrictions yet” are not coming. That would entail full school closure, full restaurant closure, all elective surgeries cancelled, etc

Wrong. The “harshest” restrictions are the ones that convince people that it is “no big deal”. Want people to get fired up, shut down the schools.
They want people to just shrug their shoulders and say what is the big deal. Then they do it again and again and again. The new “fully” vaccinated will be the next restriction that will be implemented.

Those were all done at the state level, this will be coming from the federal level.

Disagree but just keep thinking each of these is just no big deal. Forcing American citizens to stay in their house for simply traveling is a big deal. How will it be e forced? They will know who left the country by plane so they know who to check on.
In March 2020, I could leave my house whenever I wanted. If this is passed, the Fed gov could make sure you stay in your house for a period of time.

I'll offer a little defense. Doing dumb shite was acceptable in March 2020. Not December 2021 with all the information, treatments and vaccines we have now.

And then he realized it was unnecessary and pulled back on basically all restrictions, while others doubled down on all the pointlessness. I’m not sure where the gotcha lies here, but sure you thought there was a big one.

There should be ZERO RESTRICTIONS and all are dumb. But calling asking Americans to quarantine in their homes for 7 days after foreign travel the “harshest restrictions yet” is utterly ridiculous

That also only lasted about a month and then common sense or real data showed up and he changed that policy.
