When we stopped at Buc-ees last time we went to the beach I noticed people doing that... I went around the idiot in front of me that did it, and parked in the first slot by the door..

this is only annoying if its a busy gas station location, ala the Murphy’s on Airline/Ole Hammond. Inconsiderate fricks staying stalled at a pump when we all tryna get cheap gas

You should have arrived first. I see nothing wrong with it and to be expected.

Yes thats me, what of it?
Posted on 8/5/24 at 2:23 pm to deathvalleyfreak43
I do this because I don’t trust the card scanners on the pumps.

And to answer this question, not returning shopping carts at the grocery store.
I really do not get this one. I am old and fat and have bad knees. I take my buggy back in the damn store. Walking is good for you. You can rest assured that the people who do not at least put them in the buggy coral will be the loudest and whiniest when the wind slams a buggy into their car. I usually offer to take other people's buggy's back with me when I take mine....

Once while I was filling up at Love's in White House, TN, the Manager/Cashier/BossLadyInCharge got on the PA to loudly advise the "parkers" in no uncertain terms to move their cars once they were filled up.
It was a thing of joy, and yes, people moved with the quickness.
She probably wound up quitting or getting fired. The pumps make little to nothing, that fountain drink machine inside is the cash cow in the place....

Basically. 99 percent think they are the only person in the universe

It should be situationally dependant.
40% of the pumps taken? who cares?
But people arent situationally aware. Dont have a lot of stations in town and most have 4-6 pumps. Can't tell you how often I see lines waiting on gas and no one at the parked cars at the pump.

The people that do this and park in the middle of the lane to they can make sure to block 2 pumps at the same time (at a station with only 6 pumps)

If I pump gas then want something in the store I’m not moving my truck.
If I don’t need gas but need to go in the store it’s a dick move.
That’s the rules.
But I don’t frequent busy gas stations much.

I've done it occasionally when I have to take a huge grumper and can't find spots nearby. Not trying to be a jerk but if you gotta go...
Posted on 8/5/24 at 3:37 pm to tadman
If I’m pumping gas, I’ll absolutely walk in to grab a cold drink or a snack. I’m usually out before or right after the pump stops. I do have the decency to move my car if I have to poop though.

I get the gas pumping and go inside to get what I need while the pump is running. It's the most efficient use of my time and idgaf if someone else has to wait an extra minute or two. I'll even do it at the only pump that offers diesel if i have to.
