That's only for kids.

An adult removing his shoes when he enters someone's house is weird as hell

Went a neighbor's house for a dinner party a few weeks ago, the wife is Korean and she prepared a big Korean feast, we were made aware in advance to wear socks without holes and she would like us to remove our shoes.
Now normally when we go to their house the don't ask but since she was having a Korean dinner she did, I have no problem with it.

I go to many peoples houses for claims and always ask them if I see if they are not wearing shoes if I should take mine off.

The reasoning behind it makes sense

Uh, yes they do. I don’t know what kind of unkempt commoners you associate with. No one walks through another person’s apartment wearing shoes. If you want to keep your shoes on, you wait by the door.

I live in Manhattan and have never been asked or seen someone remove their shoes when entering and apartment. It was far more common in Louisiana

And “commoners”

I have no idea how you equate someone wanting you to take your shoes off with being poor.

Also, we don't ask people to take off their shoes, but we make an example of not having ours on, and we're not even close to being poor.

I don't know where you've been walking. I don't want remnants of dog shite tracked all over my house.

I’m just messing with you.

As a Southerner that moved to Manhattan, the no shoes in the apartment was a cultural change I had to get used to. I was never asked to remove my shoes; it was more of observation. At first I thought it was a Jewish thing, but that wasn’t the case over time. That’s interesting that you don’t have the same experience as it was 100% the case whenever I went into someone’s apartment.

I'm Asian and mom would scold my brothers and I if we didn't take our shoes off and it's stuck with us ever since.

I'll ask people to take their shoes off but they usually get the hint as I have a shoe rack at the front door.

It's usually obvious if someone takes their shoes off as the shoes will be at the entrance and they aren't wearing any. I do whatever the host does, if they don't take off shoes then I don't either.

My best friend's parents do this and they live in Pennsylvania. So basically, you come in from the freezing cold and have to unlace your boots just to walk inside. fricking retarded.

My son likes to take his shoes off when entering the house, and leaves them on the porch. So there's always a pile of soccer cleats, running shoes etc... on our porch right by our front door. Unfamiliar guests who come to our house see the pile of shoes and immediately take their own shoes off, not realizing my wife and I don't care.

You want people walking around your home in socks or with their nasty feet exposed? That's weird.

Mostly poors. This is a telltale sign they are a poor.

From what I’ve seen the “no shoes in the house” poors usually live right down the street from the “pretend to own a plane” poors.

Imagine walking through your house with the same shoes you walk through public restrooms in.
