I don't want prints all over the house.

...what?

I find it kinda weird when people immediately remove their shoes when they come into my house

It's how I was raised I guess. My default when entering somebodies house is to remove my shoes unless I'm asked not to. See it as common courtesy just like offering a guest something to drink.

Most of the people I know that do it are Vietnamese and they are far from poor. Not quite airplane owner rich, but not poor.

An Indian brain surgeon I know does this. He and his wife are both Indian and both super successful surgeons.

They have plastic on all of their furniture too

After moving back from Japan it took me about two years not to be totally grossed out by people wearing shoes in the home. All the crap that gets on your shoes in a day and you want to track it all over your home? All that crap from your kid's bathroom at school and the gas station and everywhere else? Be less filthy.

If they weren’t poors they wouldn’t be concerned about a little dirt. Their maid would clean it after the guest left.

Everyone in NYC removes their shoes. You don’t want to track the city though your apartment.

Do these same people also ask you to remove your clothes and shower when entering their house? You're going to get a lot of the same shite on your clothes and person walking around as you do on your shoes

I've noticed not removing shoes is mostly an American thing.

While I agree with you on this, I always go back to what my grandmother said. We don't live in a museum, a house is to be lived in. Of course my other grandmother made us take our shoes off. It actually makes sense to do it but we as a society are lazy.

And there's 1 of the lazy dumbarses now
