I generally think of vests as fashion accessories, like a tie or watch.

Loved wearing vests when I lived in the Rockies. More function than fashion.

There’s a ton of defensive bros in this thread.

If it was about 15° cooler today, I’d see every male drug rep rocking their Patagonia uniform around the hospital.

I'm required to wear a safety vest at warehouses and worksites.

I always wear a vest in the winter instead of a coat. I get too damn hot with a jacket or coat and a vest keeps me warm around my core. I live in a town of less than 3,000 people and a lot of country people have always worn vests. I am not sure about what soy boys are wearing since I never go to cities and only see soy boys around here who are passing through.

That is standard fashion for 50 years now in Colorado for both men and women. It was 75 degrees in Boulder on Wednesday and snowed most of the day on Thursday with a high of 40.
It’s not uncommon for the temperature to change by 40 degrees and the vest seems very functional. That being said, I still don’t own one.

It was 80 degrees two days ago in Denver and it's snowing today. Wore my wool vest over a flannel to work today just to piss OP off. I'm hot blooded all the frickin time so wearing a hoodie or a jacket today is a little much for the way these broads crank the heater up.

I wear a vest every day. The soft part is good up to .44 Mag. The trauma plate is rated for .308.

In Louisiana it’s never cold enough to wear a real jacket, a flannel shirt with a vest is about all that’s needed on the coldest days, the rest of winter you just need a flannel.

Southerners and Midwesterners wear vests in the spring and fall because it's functional and looks nice.

East and West coast wokeness groupthink snobs think of the vest like this..."The Power Vest is a form of male privilege, a hideous fleece totem of the patriarchy’s oppression of non-cis-male people in the workplace."

Which group do you want to be associated with?

Keeps your core warm without overheating. Flexible when it's cold in the morning and warms up throughout the day. I would say out of all the clothing styles to attack functionally, this is the dumbest.

Let's talk about cargo pants.

Wool lined Carhartt vest is money man. I've owned mine for 20 years now. You can't frick it up, hands and arms are free to work, and keeps wind chill off your chest. Best of all worlds. However I'm sure you are referring to the cashmere boy vest I see all the kids wearing....Mr. Rogers style...LOL

Keeps your core warm. Why is this such a hard concept for some to understand?
