Are lame, however,

my coworkers never ventured out to explore the local flavors and ate whatever BS was catered to them

This is a situation where it seems reasonable. Networking>>>standing in line for some brisket.

You’re in Austin, what are the “local flavors”?
Tex-Mex? Brisket?
Chinese buffet?
You’re in Austin, not Kathmandu.

Dude, it’s not like Austin is going to have dramatically different food than the rest of the country. Their BBQ isn’t that different than what you’ll find in most of the south (

I mean if I'm going on a trip for business or pleasure I'm at least eating a couple meals at what are considered the better restaurants in that locale

You can get tex mex anywhere. Why would I limit myself to that just because I'm in Austin?

Tex Mex varies in quality

I haven't tried enough of it in Austin to speak on their quality

Well yeah.

Some people see food as just fuel, as just the calories. Others are fat.

I didn't think people were eating tuna in water because they liked it.

No it doesn’t.
It’s all prepared like a catering op, and then microwaved to perfection.

I dunno, some people just dont have adventurous palates.. it’s fine.. to me it’s not much different than people who arent into cars, and just want a basic sedan to get them ‘from A to B’, and dont like the latest SUV or the coolest old hot rod.. me, i like both cars and food, but i can understand how someone might have different interests .

Don't do it man. One of my idiot co-workers did it and ended up in the hospital for a week on some gnarly antibiotics to kill whatever he got. It's not just a case of the shits. You're going to get that just from some residual shower water and ice so you'll get the Delhi belly experience regardless.

Message received. I actually am going in March for Holi, but I'll avoid the street food.

You know exactly what U. Texas protest rally photo to insert here...

You already proved this with your reply...
